A research agenda for spatial information

The VSC has been considering the publication of a research agenda that aligns with the spatial information community’s strategic needs and that can be used to engage with CRCSI-2, researchers (universities) and other collaborators in the private and public sectors to undertake research initiatives to further develop the application of spatial information.

In late 2009, the VSC Secretariat and the Spatial Information Infrastructure Division of DSE collaborated to draft a joint SII/VSC research agenda.

The following draft document incorporates potential research questions as a basis for (1) engaging with Government agencies and others to further develop the research agenda, and (2) developing formal research and development proposals as opportunities arise.

Further consultations will take place to develop the document, which will be updated as new questions and topics are suggested.

Feedback on the proposals so far put forward is welcome.
